It's that time of the month again when Daring Bakers all around the globe post their baking challenges.
This month's challenge is brought to us by Karen of Bake My Day and Zorra of 1x umruehren bitte aka Kochtopf. They have chosen Tuiles from The Chocolate Book by Angélique Schmeink and Nougatine and Chocolate Tuiles from Michel Roux.
Great idea, ladies, and thanks for hosting!
Since I have been such a bad girl skipping the last two challenges, I knew I had to get this one posted no matter how it turned out. I had some issues with the shaping of the tuiles, so in the end I made little tube shapes by wrapping the warm cookie around the handle of my whisk. I made a light and fluffy peanut butter buttercream to fill the cookies which turned out really nice. All in all, I don't think I have that delicate hand that it takes to master tuiles, but if you'll check out the Daring Baker's Blog Roll, you'll see some gorgeous examples from some really creative bakers who do. Remember, you don't have to have a blog to join Daring Bakers.
